![]() Paimon may be summoned, while his two other forms still remain supernatural, his knowledge will be shared with the cult through Charlie. Now that the entire bloodline of these three women are all decapitated and placed in a trinity, and Paimon's son Charlie is in a male host, the ritual is complete. Personally, I think Peter is still alive here. It's debatable whether or not this happens, but the power of Paimon is to raise the dead. Peter jumps out a window, perhaps killing himself. ![]() Annie and the cult are supposed to scare Peter out of his wits to be vulnerable to Charlie, and it works. It is established that Charlie's book is cursed, so Paimon uses this to set fire to Steve, killing him and therefore letting Paimon, not Charlie, fully take over Annie. Paimon uses Annie and the cult to fully break down peter. The cult was planning to decapitate Annie that night, but a change of plans occurs. This adds further evidence to what the Seance intends, which is to summon Charlie (the son). Perhaps at this moment, he was so broken down that Charlie almost possessed him fully, but he managed to snap out of it. Peter is so broken down by Paimon and the Blue Shimmer throughout school, so this almost works, causing him to be mildly possessed at one point by Charlie, where he slams his nose on the desk, snapping him out of it. Joane then attempts to actually possess Peter at this very moment, telling him to be expelled from his body. Annie goes to Joane's house, but she isn't home and it looks as if Joane has also summoned Charlie by the seance she has conducted. Then the cult moves onto the final stage, decapitating Annie and possessing Peter. Right afterward, Annie is possessed by Charlie, which is why I think the seance was to summon Charlie's spirit to the house, and Paimon is already in it. Joane fakes a story of her dead grandchild, and since she already has Paimon in her home, Paimon moves around all the stuff to convince Annie to do it. I'm not sure at all why they did this, the most likely thing is that they needed to summon Charlie's (the son's) spirit. Then, the cult brings of the method of seance. This allows both of them to be possessed by Paimon. Annie finds a piece of a herb in her teeth when drinking Joane's tea, and one of Peter's stoner friends most likely slipped it in his weed, as Peter starts coughing uncontrollably. Both Joane and one of Peter's stoner friends are of the cult. The cult moves on to Peter and Annie.įirst, they drug both Peter and Annie. Charlie's spirit, the son, is now nowhere. The cult creates the plan (an admittedly stupid plan) to decapitate Charlie, and it works. This is also confirmed by the fact you can hear the footsteps of people walking around the house before the owners arrive home after Grandma's funeral. Multiple incantations appear on the wall, along with a triangle, trinity like marked on the floor. The cult at the beginning of the film has already marked the house, allowing Paimon to roam free in it, which is why Visions and Spirits appear. The first example of Paimon's powers is summoning spirits, as he summons Grandma's spirit to appear in that creepy shot tin the beginning of the film. However, she must be in a male body to satisfy Paimon, the "father". Charlie was not possessed in the way that Annie and Peter were, she is the "son" so a piece of Paimon in itself. This is why this is brought up in the movie through Annie's miniatures. Grandma fed this drug to Charlie, essentially making her a Paimon hostable person. However, the blue shimmer is debatable on whether or not it is a specific entity, so you can also view it as a sign of demonic presence, similar to clucking. Similar to how the Holy Trinity is set up as the "father, son, the holy spirit" Paimon has a similar trinity, with "Paimon, The son (Charlie), the holy spirit (Blue simmer)". ![]() These are all within the film.Īnother thing to note is that the blue shimmer (I call him 'blue boi') seen throughout is the spirit of Paimon. Paimon's powers include: Raising the dead, visions, summoning spirits, levitation, and possession. The drawing we see of him in the movie depicts him with three heads. Paimon must be in a male host, and the host must be extremely vulnerable and drugged with an herb called "Dittany of Creek" I think.Īs well as that, Paimon must have a trinity of heads from three generations. This will be an overview of the cult's plan.įirstly, we know that to complete the ritual and summon paimon, these things must be done:
